Set up a signature order

How to define the order in which signatories sign a contract in Tomorro?

Updated today

Tomorro's native signature allows you to sign documents directly in Tomorro, and to define the order in which signatories (internal and external) must sign.

This option only applies to Tomorro's electronic signature — it does not work with the DocuSign integration.

Define a signature order

From a contract type

Only administrators can define a signature order from the template.

Set up

  • Open the relevant contract type.

  • Go to the Settings section, Signature subsection.

  • Click the Signature order button.

  • Select "Order the parties" if you want to change the signature order between the internal party and the counterparty.

  • If you have multiple internal signatories, choose the signature order among them.

  • If you use multiple template languages, the flags will indicate which templates this order applies to.

From a contract

When creating a contract from a contract type, it inherits the associated signature order. However, you can modify or add a signature order directly from the contract. This will only affect that contract.

Set up

  • Go to your current contract.

  • Click Send.

  • Select Prepare signature.

  • Modify the signature order in the right-hand panel under Signatories.

Signature tracking

When sending for signature, if a signature order has been set from the template and you are using Tomorro's electronic signature, it will appear as follows: once the signature process has started, the signature tracking indicates the order of signatories — the counterparty signatory's signature will only be requested after the internal signatories have signed (one after the other).
