Cancel or reassign a signature

How to cancel an ongoing signature process or reassign a signer in case of absence or error?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When a project is already in the signing phase, Tomorro allows you to either cancel the entire signature process or reassign a signer.

Edit a signer’s first name or last name (without canceling the signature)

If the signer’s email address is correct but their first name or last name needs to be updated, no action is required on the project side.

When accessing the document or at the time of signing, the signer can:

  • edit their first name,

  • edit their last name,

directly in the identity confirmation screen or in the signature window.

The email address cannot be modified by the signer.
In this case, the signer must be reassigned.

Cancel a signing process

Open the project

  • Go to the relevant project in Tomorro.

  • Make sure its status is In signing (green badge at the top of the page).

Access the menu

If it is a DocuSign signature, only the person who issued or created the signature request will be able to cancel it.

  • Click on the “…” in the top-right corner of the screen.

  • Select Cancel the signature process.

Add an explanatory note

  • A confirmation window opens.

  • Add a note explaining the reason for the cancellation.

All internal and external signers will be automatically notified by email.

Confirm

  • Click “Cancel signature” to confirm.

The signing process will be stopped immediately.

All participants will receive a notification, and you can relaunch the signature later once the necessary changes have been made.

To relaunch the signing process, follow the steps described in this article:
Send a project for signature in Tomorro.

Reassign a signatory

If a signatory is unavailable (absence, departure, wrong email address), you can reassign their signature to another person without cancelling the entire process.

Open the signatories tab

  • From the project page, go to the Signatories section (on the right-hand side).

  • Click on the “…” next to the signer to be replaced.

Edit

  • Select Edit to open the signer reassignment window.

Enter the new address

  • Enter the email address of the new signer.

All signatories (internal and external) will automatically be notified by email of the change.

Confirm

  • Click Edit to confirm the reassignment.

The signing process will automatically resume with the new signatory.
