Define a signature order

How to set up a signing order with Tomorro e-signature?

Updated over a month ago

The Tomorro native signature allows you to sign your documents directly from Tomorro, without using a third-party electronic signature tool.

Tomorro’s native e-signature allows you to sign your documents directly in Tomorro, and to define the order in which signatories (internal and external) must sign.

This option applies only to Tomorro’s electronic signature and does not work with the DocuSign integration.

Define a signing order

From a template

Only administrators can set a signing order from a template.

Setup

  • Open the document template you want to configure.

  • Go to the Workflows section at the top of the page.

  • Click the Signature order button.

  • Select Order parties if you want to change the signing order between the internal party and the counterparty.

  • If you have several internal signatories, choose the signing order between them.

If you use templates in multiple languages, the flags will indicate which templates the signing order applies to.

From a project

When you create a project from a template, the project inherits the signing order defined in that template.

However, you can edit or add a signing order directly from the project.
This will only affect the current project.

Setup

  • Open your ongoing project.

  • Click Send.

  • Select Prepare signature.

  • Adjust the signing order in the right-hand panel under Signatories.

Signature tracking

When sending a document for signature, if a signing order has been set up in the template and you are using Tomorro’s e-signature, it will appear as follows:

Once the signing flow has started, the signature tracking (as shown below) displays the order of the signatories:

  • The counterparty’s signature will only be requested after the internal signatories have signed (one after another).
