Configure signature fields in a contract template

How to configure electronic signature in the contrat type template?

Updated today

Feature restricted to administrators.

Use Tomorro electronic signature

Tomorro electronic signature is a native solution integrated into contract types. It allows you to configure and manage contract signatures directly from the platform, without relying on an external tool.

Tomorro signature is legally binding and compliant with applicable legal requirements.

Tomorro only supports bilateral contracts. A contract can include a single counterparty company, with one or several associated signatories.

Access signature settings

Signature settings are configured directly from the template document.

  • From the main menu, go to the Contract types tab.

  • Open the relevant contract type.

  • Stay in the Template section.

You can then configure signature areas directly within the template content.

Insert a signature zone

Signature zones can be added manually or automatically when creating the template from a Word document.

Add a signature area manually

  • Place your cursor where you want to insert the signature.

  • Click the “+” displayed to the left of the cursor.

  • Select Signature zone.

The signature area is inserted at the selected location.

Automatically extract signature areas from a Word document

When creating a template from a Word document, if AI analysis is enabled, Tomorro automatically identifies signature areas present in the document.

These areas are then converted into Tomorro signature areas and directly integrated into the template.

Once added, you can configure a signature area by clicking the ⚙️ icon to:

  • define the signatories,

  • add display conditions,

  • customize the requested information,

  • or delete the zone.

Add multiple signature zones

A contract can contain several signature zones, placed at different locations in the document.

For each additional area:

  • Place the cursor at the desired location.

  • Click “+”, then Signature zone.

  • Repeat as many times as needed.

Define signatories

From a signature area’s configuration, click Manage signatories.

A dedicated window opens, distinguishing:

  • signatories from your organization,

  • signatories from the counterparty.

Manage signatories from your organization

Two options are available:

  • Add an undefined signatory

The signatory will be chosen later, on a case-by-case basis, for each contract created from this contract type.

  • Select a member of your organization

The selected signatory will be automatically added to all contracts created from this contract type.

This option is recommended when the signatory is always the same.

The signatory must be a member of your organization on Tomorro.

Manage counterparty signatories

For the counterparty, it is only possible to add empty signatories.

They can be filled in after the contract is created.

You can add as many signatories as needed, including multiple signatories for the same party.

Display a signature area conditionally

Signature areas can be displayed only if certain conditions are met.

Example: display the signature area only if the contract amount is greater than €1,000.

Conditions rely on contract fields and allow the document to adapt dynamically.

Customize signature information

Each signature area can be customized to define:

  • the information visible to each signatory,

  • the fields to be completed during signature.

Unknown information about a signatory will be requested at the time of their first signature, and the customized mention will need to be re-entered.

Delete a signature area or a signatory

Delete a signature area

Select the area, click ⚙️, then click the trash icon.

Delete a signatory

From the Signatories section, hover over the relevant signatory and click the trash icon.
