Use DocuSign with Tomorro to sign a contract

How to use the DocuSign integration in Tomorro to sign a contract?

Tomorro allows you to use DocuSign to send a contract for electronic signature, while centralising tracking and storage within the platform.

Benefits:

  • Use your existing tool
Send your contracts via DocuSign if your organisation already uses it.

  • Centralise tracking
Track the signature status directly from the contract in Tomorro.

  • Store automatically
The signed PDF and the signature date are automatically added to the contract summary sheet.

Connect your DocuSign account

Before sending a contract for signature, connect your DocuSign account from the integration settings.

Connexion is required for each user who wants to send contracts via DocuSign.

Who needs to connect DocuSign?

  • Only the person who initiates the signature sending needs to have their DocuSign account connected to Tomorro.

  • Signatories (internal or external) do not need to connect their DocuSign account. They sign via the email sent by DocuSign.

    • Example: the assistant prepares the envelope → the CEO receives the DocuSign email → they sign without connecting anything in Tomorro.

Prepare the contract

  • Create the contract in Tomorro or

  • Import an external document (PDF or Word).

Make sure that:

  • The content is finalised

  • Any approvals are completed

  • Mandatory fields are filled in

Initiate the signature

  • Click Send in the top right corner.

  • Select Prepare signature.

If the option is greyed out, check that all modifications, approvals and required fields have been completed.

  • Verify that the selected tool is E-signature DocuSign.

Add signatories

Add internal signatories

  • Select members from your organisation.

Add counterparty signatories

Enter the email address or select an existing contact.

It is possible to add multiple signatories per party.

Configure signature zones

Position the required fields in the document:

Good to know

Depending on your DocuSign configuration, it is possible to adjust the fields directly in DocuSign when creating the envelope, before the final sending.

What DocuSign receives

  • Tomorro sends to DocuSign: the document, the signatories (name + email) and the signature/initials zones.

  • Tomorro does not send to DocuSign: the visual metadata of the signature zone (position, location, company name, timestamp).

  • To display this information in DocuSign, configure it directly on the DocuSign side.

Add attached files or annexes to the DocuSign signature envelope

  • Add, if necessary, attached files to the DocuSign signature envelope.

  • These documents will be included in the signature process.

If you want an annex to also be signed, add signature zones directly on it.

Send the contract for signature

  • Validate the preparation.

The button is greyed out?

This generally means that at least one signature zone has not yet been added to the contract. Add the missing signature zone(s) to be able to validate the preparation.

  • Add a message for the signatories (optional or pre-defined by your administrators).

  • Add an approver (optional or pre-defined by your administrators in the approval workflows).

  • Click Send for signature or create the envelope on DocuSign depending on your integration settings.

DocuSign and approval workflow

When an approval workflow "before signature" is configured on the contract:

  • The DocuSign envelope is created after the approval is validated, not before.

  • Tomorro blocks the sending until the approval workflow is validated.

Impact on DocuSign envelopes:

  • Cancelling the signature before the approval is completed = no DocuSign envelope created (no waste).

  • Cancelling the signature after sending = the DocuSign envelope is revoked (envelope consumed).

Cancel the signature process

If you need to cancel a signature:

  • Click "..." in the top right corner of the contract page.

  • Select "Cancel the signature process"

  • You can restart the signature later by following the steps described above.

Important:

  • If the envelope has been sent via DocuSign, only the person who created and sent the envelope can cancel it, whether from DocuSign or from Tomorro.

  • If the envelope has already been sent, cancelling from Tomorro also cancels the envelope on the DocuSign side → the envelope is consumed.

  • If the signature is cancelled before the envelope is created (for example during approval), no envelope is impacted.

Signature tracking

The status is automatically updated in Tomorro:

  • Waiting

  • Signed

It is possible to manually follow up with signatories directly from Tomorro. This action is available for administrators and the contract owner.

Once signed:

  • The final PDF is added to the contract

  • The signature date is automatically filled in

  • The contract is stored in your repository
