Share and access contracts

How to share a contract link and resolve counterparty access issues?

Updated over a week ago

For any contract with the status Negotiating or Signing, you have access to a unique and secure sharing link allowing your participants to access the contract.

A contract in Draft status cannot be shared.

Get the sharing link

The sharing link allows access to the contract only to people you have added as participants.

Access the link

To retrieve the sharing link:

  • Open the contract

  • Click Share in the top right corner

  • Copy the sharing link

The link is also available in the Participants tab, under Sharing settings.

Define settings before sending

Before sending the link, you can configure:

  • The counterparty's interface language

  • The counterparty's editing rights (view only or edit)

You can then include this link in your email exchanges, even outside of Tomorro.

Understand access conditions

Access to the contract depends on the participant type and their email address.

Access as an internal participant

An internal participant is a member of your organization.

To access the contract, they must:

  • Be logged into their Tomorro account

  • Be added as a participant to the contract

If they are not a participant, access will be denied.

Access as an external participant

An external participant is someone who does not have a Tomorro account.

To access the contract, they must:

  • Be added as a participant to the contract

  • Use the same email address as the one registered on the contract

If the email address does not match, the user will see an Access denied page.

If your counterparty has not been added as a participant, they will need to contact you to be added before they can access the contract.

Resolve counterparty access issues

Your counterparty is having trouble accessing the contract? Here are the checks to perform on your side before contacting support.

The counterparty sees an "Access denied" page

This is the most common issue. It occurs when:

  • The email address does not match: your counterparty is trying to log in with a different email address than the one registered on the contract. Check the address in the Participants tab and correct it if necessary.

  • The participant has not been added: make sure your counterparty is listed in the contract's participants.

  • The contract is in Draft status: a contract in Draft status cannot be shared. Change it to Negotiating status to enable sharing.

The counterparty does not receive the invitation email

If your counterparty does not receive the email sent by Tomorro:

  • Ask them to check their spam or junk mail folder

  • Verify that the participant's email address is correctly spelled in the Participants tab

  • If the issue persists, send the sharing link directly by email: the counterparty will be able to access the contract by clicking on it

The sharing link works independently from the invitation email. You can always copy it and send it manually.

The verification code does not arrive

When accessing the contract, your counterparty must enter a 6-digit code sent by email. If this code does not arrive:

  • Ask them to check their spam

  • Suggest trying a different browser or a private browsing window (some ad blockers may interfere)

  • Verify that the email address listed in participants is the one actually used by your counterparty

If the issue persists after these checks, contact Tomorro support providing the counterparty's email address and the contract ID.

The sharing link no longer works

The sharing link remains valid as long as the contract is in Negotiating or Signing status. If the link no longer works:

  • Check that the contract status has not changed (switched to Draft, Signed, or Cancelled)

  • Copy a new link from the Share button: the link is always the same, but this allows you to verify it is correct
