Download a contract from Tomorro

How to download a contract from Tomorro?

You can download a contract directly from the contract page. The format and download options depend on the contract status.

To download a contract, you must be a contract participant.

If the option does not appear, check that:

  • you are a contract participant

  • the contract status allows downloading

  • your role allows downloading (viewers can only download signed contracts)

Download an unsigned contract

When the contract is not yet signed, you can download the document in the following format:

  • Microsoft Word (.docx)

  • PDF (.pdf)
(PDF only if the original document is a PDF)

Steps

  • Open the relevant contract

  • Click on the three dots (⋯) in the top right corner

  • Click on Download

  • Select the desired format:

    • Microsoft Word (.docx)

    • PDF document (.pdf)

The page numbers of the downloaded document are calculated automatically at generation. It is not possible to insert a dynamic page number in the header or footer: any number typed manually is static text, repeated as-is on every page. Learn more in the article on review mode.

Download a contract while the signature is in progress

When the contract is in the signature process, it is not possible to download a partially signed version.

The signed document and the signature certificate are only generated once all parties have signed. The Download the signed document button appears automatically as soon as the last signature is added.

In the meantime, you can still download the unsigned version of the document from the three dots menu (⋯), as described above.

Need a signed document without waiting for all signatures?

  • Wait for the remaining signatories to sign: the contract moves to the Signed status and the download becomes available

  • Cancel signature process, then have the document signed another way: outside the platform, or via Sign a document with a single signature zone. Please note: cancelling removes the signatures already added, the signatories will have to sign again.

  • Re-import a partially signed document via Sign a document to collect the remaining signatures. Learn more about importing a signed or unsigned version.

To avoid this situation, set a signature order so that your co-contracting party signs first. Learn more in the article Configure contract signature.

Download a signed contract

When the contract is signed, downloading is available in PDF format only.

Steps

  • Open the relevant contract

  • Click on the three dots (⋯) in the top right corner

  • Click on Download the signed document

  • or Download the signed documents

Depending on the option chosen, you can download:

  • A combined file: all signed documents merged into a single PDF

  • Separate files: each signed document downloaded individually

Need to download multiple signed contracts?

If the button does not appear, the feature may not be enabled on your workspace. Contact support to learn more.

Understand the content of the signed documents download

When you download the signed documents, Tomorro generates a download containing:

  • the documents sent for electronic signature

  • the signature certificate, if it exists

⚠️ This download does not contain all the attached files of the contract.

Only the files sent for signature are included.

Attached files added to the contract but not sent for signature are not included in the download.

Example

If a contract contains:

  • 1 signed main document

  • 2 annexes sent for signature

  • 3 files stored on the contract but not sent for signature

Then the merged download will contain:

  • the signed main document

  • the 2 signed annexes

  • the signature certificate

The 3 other files will not be included.

If you need to retrieve other files attached to the contract, you will need to download them directly from the attached files section of the contract.

Difference between Export and Download

Tomorro offers two ways to retrieve information about your contracts.

It is important not to confuse them:

Download = retrieve the contract file (PDF or Word)

You get the document as it was drafted or signed.

Export = retrieve the contract data in Excel format

You get a table with contract information (dates, statuses, participants, smart fields, etc.).
