Set a default value for custom smart fields

How to choose the default value for a custom smart field?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Do your contracts include a three-month notice period or a fixed duration? Do you want to automate tacit renewals and fill out summary sheets effortlessly?

With default values, pre-define the fields directly from your templates to save time and ensure your sheets are correctly filled out and usable.

Set a default value

Default values are managed by template and via the summary sheet, where you can select the fields to include.

  • Open the relevant template and access the summary sheet.

  • Select the field for which you want to set a default value.

  • Click the "..." on the right side of the field.

  • Choose "Add a default value" and enter the desired information.

  • Click outside the field to automatically save the value.

  • Once added, the default value will appear below the corresponding field.

Set an automatic start Date

You can configure your template so that the start date automatically equals the signing date. Check out this article for more details.

Modify a default value

  • Click the "..." on the right side of the field.

  • Modify the desired value.

  • Click outside the field to save the change ✅.

Delete a default value

  • Click the "..." on the right side of the field.

  • In the default value section, click the cross to remove the value.

Changes or deletions made in a template will not affect the summary sheets of projects already created. Only future projects will benefit from the newly defined values.
