Link the start date with the signature date

How to align the contract start date with the signing date?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The start date of a contract corresponds to its effective date. It is possible to automatically align it with the signing date by all parties, eliminating the need for manual entry. This configuration can now be set directly within your contract templates.

Link start date with signature date

To ensure the start date matches the signing date, follow these steps:

  • Open the relevant template and access the summary sheet.

  • Hover over the "Start Date" field.

  • Click on "...".

  • Select "+ Add a default value".

  • Check the option "Equal to the signing date".

Once enabled, this option ensures that the start date in your summary sheet will automatically match the signing date, whether the signature takes place via Tomorro or Docusign.

Manage manually entered dates

If a start date has been manually entered during the negotiation process, it will be retained even if it differs from the signing date.

Scope of the modification

Adding a default value applies only to the selected template. This modification is not retroactive and will not affect previously created projects based on the template.

Special case for mandatory fields

If the start date and signing date are mandatory fields for project creation, automatic filling of the start date will not be possible. In this case, these details must be entered manually.
