Change the location of a contract

Want to move a contract to a different folder for better organization?

Updated today

You have two options: do it directly from the contract itself or from the repository.

To change a contract's location, you must be an administrator or a contract participant.

From the contract

  • Access the contract: Open the contract you want to move.

  • Check the current folder: On the contract summary sheet, you’ll see the folder where the contract is currently stored.

If no folder has been specified, the contract is automatically placed at the root of the repository and will appear in the “Contracts without location” folder.

  • Change the folder: Click on the current folder name to open the dropdown menu.

  • Select a new folder: Choose the destination folder from the list.

  • Confirm the change: Click on “Store here”.

All users with access to the selected folder will now be able to view the contract.

From the repository

You can also move a contract to a different folder directly from the repository, in two ways:

From the summary sheet

  • Click on the contract name (without opening it) to display the summary sheet on the right.

  • Change the folder: Click on the current folder name and select a new one from the dropdown menu.

  • Confirm the change: Click on “Store here”.

Drag & drop

  • Drag the contract with your mouse and drop it into the desired folder.

  • To move multiple contracts at once, select them using the checkboxes, then drag and drop them together.

Contracts Without Location

Contracts without an archiving rule or template will be temporarily placed in a folder named “Contracts Without Location”.

  • These contracts remain accessible only to participants or administrators.

  • The folder is automatically updated as soon as an archiving rule is applied.

  • If a signed document is drag-and-dropped into the root of the contract library, it will go directly into the “Contracts Without Location” folder.
