Assigning the completion of smart fields

How can you assign the completion of smart fields to your company or to the counterparty?

Updated this week

Smart fields allow you to create forms when generating projects.

In Tomorro, you can clearly define who is responsible for completing each field: your company or the counterparty.

Understanding the benefits of assignment

Empowering internal teams
Operational teams know exactly which fields they must complete before sending the project.

Simplifying the counterparty experience
The counterparty only sees and completes the fields that concern them.

Speeding up exchanges
Fewer corrections, fewer back-and-forths, and no risk of unintended changes.

Defining who completes a field

The assignment of field completion is managed only at the template level.

  • Go to the Templates section

  • Open the relevant template

  • Click on a smart field

  • Choose who should complete the field:

    • Your company

    • The counterparty

Identifying and understanding field behavior

Blue field - assigned to your company

  • The field is visible only to your company

  • Only members of your company can complete it

  • The counterparty cannot see or fill in this field in the project form

Yellow field - assigned to the counterparty

  • The field is intended for the counterparty

  • They can complete it when they receive the project via Tomorro

  • Your company can also complete it if needed

Knowing the rules to follow

  • Assignment works only if the project remains in the Tomorro editor

  • As soon as a Word version is imported into the project, field assignment is no longer applied

  • Assignment is defined at the template level and cannot be changed in a project that is already under negotiation
