At Tomorro, a smart field is a variable that allows you to insert information into your templates or contracts, but also to store and structure key data in the platform (summary sheet, repository, filtered views, automations…).
Identify Tomorro's native smart fields
Upon creating your account, the following fields, also known as Tomorro's native smart fields, are automatically created for you; they are necessary for the platform to function properly.
These fields are divided into two categories:
Counterparty-related fields
Native field name | Field type | Description |
Legal name of your organization | Text | Define the name of your organization. |
Legal name of the counterparty | Text | Define the name of the counterparty. |
Contract-related fields
Native field name | Field type | Description |
Signature date | Date | This field is automatically filled in by Tomorro when the document is fully signed by all parties. |
Duration type | Selector (Fixed-term / Open-ended) | Define the duration type of the contract. |
Start date | Date | Define the start date of the contract. |
Initial duration | Duration (in months) | Define the initial duration of the contract before any potential renewal. |

Notice | Duration (in days, months, years) | If there is a notice period, define the notice period required to modify the contract. |
Next renewal date | Date | This field is automatically filled in by Tomorro based on the initial end date and the renewal duration. |

Recognise native fields in the interface
Tomorro's native smart fields now benefit from a dedicated visual treatment and a tooltip across several selection and configuration screens, allowing you to easily distinguish them from the smart fields you have created.
You will find this visual treatment in the following screens:
Contract type settings
View settings
Find and replace
Dynamic components
Automations
Understand the importance of native fields
These fields allow our algorithms, for example, to create reminders automatically or to structure your contracts by counterparty and contract type.
Note that they are automatically translated according to the user's display language.
Native fields cannot be deleted from your account. However, their value can be filled in and modified depending on the context of each contract. It is the field itself that is fixed, not its content.
