Change the location of a project

Want to move a project to a different folder for better organization?

Updated this week

You have two options: do it directly from the project itself or from the repository.

From the project

  • Access the project: Open the project you want to move.

  • Check the current folder: On the project summary page, you’ll see the folder where the project is currently stored.

If no folder has been specified, the project is automatically placed at the root of the repository and will appear in the “Projects without location” folder.

  • Change the folder: Click on the current folder name (e.g., “Repository”) to open the dropdown menu.

  • Select a new folder: Choose the destination folder from the list.

  • Confirm the change: Click “Confirm” in the pop-up window.

All users with access to the selected folder will now be able to view the project.

From the repository

You can also move a project to a different folder directly from the repository, in two ways:

From the summary sheet

  • Click on the project name (without opening it) to display the summary panel on the right.

  • Change the folder: Click on the current folder name and select a new one from the dropdown menu.

  • Confirm the change: The folder is updated automatically.

Drag & drop

  • Drag the project with your mouse and drop it into the desired folder.

  • To move multiple projects at once, select them using the checkboxes, then drag and drop them together.

Projects Without Location

Projects without an archiving rule or template will be temporarily placed in a folder named “Projects Without Location”.

  • These projects remain accessible only to participants or administrators.

  • The folder is automatically updated as soon as an archiving rule is applied.

  • If a signed document is drag-and-dropped into the root of the contract library, it will go directly into the “Projects Without Location” folder.
