How to create, edit or delete a clause?

Create a clause

From dynamic components

  • Go to Dynamic Components on the left

  • Click Create a Component at the top right

  • Select New Clause (an editor opens)

By converting existing text

  • Select the text to convert into a clause

  • Click Save as a new clause (an editor opens)

Using the + button in the editor

  • Hover over the editor and click +

  • Select Clause and click Create a Clause (an editor opens)

Once in the editor :

  • Name the clause, add a description if needed

  • Click Create Clause

Add an existing clause

  • In the editor, click +

  • Select Clause

  • Choose an existing clause, which will be inserted automatically

Replace a clause

  • Click the gear icon on the clause

  • Select a new clause from the dropdown menu to replace the existing one

Edit a clause

Modifying a clause has the following effects:

  • The clause will be updated in all templates and future projects where it is used.

  • It will not be modified in ongoing or already signed projects.

From a template

If the clause is already inserted

  • Click the gear icon, then the pencil icon

  • Modify the clause and click Edit Clause

If the clause is not yet inserted

  • Click + in the editor, select Clause, then the pencil icon

  • Modify the clause and click Edit Clause

From dynamic components

  • Go to Dynamic Components, select a clause

  • Modify its name, description, and content

  • Click Edit Clause

Delete a Clause

Deleting a clause removes it from future projects, but it remains in ongoing projects and signed projects.

  • Click the gear icon

  • Click the trash icon to delete the clause

  • Replace and add clauses in templates and projects

Contributors

  • View clauses in projects

  • Edit clauses (if edition access granted)

All users

  • Accept or reject suggested changes to clauses during project negotiations
