Edit, format and negotiate a contract in review mode

How to edit, format, track changes and finalise a contract in Tomorro's review mode?

Updated today

The review mode is the central space to edit, format and negotiate your contracts in Tomorro.

It brings together all the tools needed to collaborate, track changes and finalise a contract before sending or signing.

The editing and formatting features (text, structure, headers…) are also available when editing the template of a contract type.
The Collaborate and negotiate, Preview and Finalise sections are specific to contracts.

Access review mode

To edit a contract:

  • Open the relevant contract

  • Click Review

Review mode then becomes your main workspace.

Red indicators let you quickly identify items requiring action (incomplete fields, comments, suggestions).

If the Edit option is not visible, you do not have editing rights. Contact your administrator.

Navigate the contract with the table of contents

The table of contents is available in review mode to make navigation easier.

It lets you:

  • Jump quickly to a section of the document

  • Follow the structure (headings, articles, numbering) defined in the contract

  • Maintain a clear view of the content organisation during editing and negotiation

The table of contents updates automatically as content is modified.

You can edit your contract as you would in an advanced text editor.

  • Apply bold, italic, colours or highlighting

  • Add hyperlinks

Copy formatting

The Format Painter tool lets you quickly copy the formatting of a text or paragraph and apply it elsewhere.

Create and manage lists

  • Bullet lists for simple items

  • Numbered lists with:

    • Standard numbering

    • Continuous numbering throughout the document

    • Article-based numbering (e.g. Article 1, Article 2), updated automatically

You can at any time:

  • Continue a numbering sequence

  • Restart numbering

  • Convert a numbered list to bullet points

Add a header and/or footer

You can insert a header or footer containing:

  • A logo

  • A table

  • Formatted text

You can choose to display the header:

  • On all pages

  • Or on the first page only

Insert and manage smart fields

  • Insert an existing smart field into the text

  • Access all contract fields from the form

  • Identify fields to complete using the red indicators

Find and replace

  • Search for a word or phrase

  • Replace it with another word or a @smart field

  • Apply the replacement to one or multiple occurrences

This feature does not apply to text and fields contained within clauses.

Add structural and content elements

Using the "+" button in the editor, you can insert:

  • Page breaks to structure the document

  • Tables

    • Add or remove rows and columns

    • Modify cell borders and background

  • Images

  • Contractual clauses

  • Tomorro signature zones

Collaborate and negotiate in the contract

Manage comments and suggestions

  • View all comments and suggestions

  • Accept, reject or resolve suggestions

  • Add your own suggestions directly from review mode

Track activity

  • Check whether another user is currently working on the contract

Use AI negotiation

  • Generate relevant, context-aware suggestions to facilitate exchanges with the counterparty

Preview the contract and manage page numbers

PDF preview

The PDF preview is available for contracts only.

It lets you:

  • Check the final rendering of the contract

  • Review the layout before sending or signing

Manage page numbers

In PDF preview mode, page numbers are calculated automatically based on the document content and any page breaks inserted manually, including header and footer settings.

Page numbers recalculate automatically whenever the content is modified or a page break is added. They are visible only in the PDF preview or when downloading — not in the editor.

Finalise the contract

  • Close the contract

  • Send the contract to the counterparty

  • Start the signing process
