This feature simplifies template creation and contract negotiation from external documents.
Check or create smart fields in Tomorro
Before importing your document, make sure the smart fields already exist within your organization.
Two possibilities:
The smart fields already exist: You can proceed to the next step.
The smart fields don’t exist yet or need to be reviewed:
Go to the “Dynamic Components” tab
Click on “Smart Fields”
Review existing fields or create new ones if needed

Edit your Word document to insert smart fields
Before importing, open your contract in .docx
format (in Word or Google Docs) and insert the custom fields into the text.
Option 1: Find and Replace
Open the search function:
Windows:
Ctrl + F
Mac:
Cmd + F
Click on the three dots to access “Find and Replace”.
Replace the text with the exact name of the custom field, enclosed in curly brackets, for example:
{Counterparty Name}
Option 2: Manual Insertion
You can also directly insert custom fields manually using curly brackets.
To type {}
characters:
Windows:
AltGr + 4 and AltGr + }
(depending on your keyboard)
Mac (AZERTY):
Option + ( and Option + )
Your document should look like this:
The contract is signed with {Counterparty Name} on {Signature Date}
Import the Document into Tomorro
Import the edited
.docx
file into Tomorro.During import, Tomorro will automatically detect fields enclosed in
{ }
and match them with existing custom fields.
Once the document is imported, the fields will be ready to fill in or automatically populated in your template or project.
