Set up a dynamic naming for your projects

How to define a dynamic and automatic name for the project that will be generated from a template?

Updated over a month ago

This feature allows you to automate the naming of your contracts, save time and standardize the nomenclature of your repository.

Set a dynamic project name

  • Go to In your template

  • Click on the Folder tab and then on

  • Click on Project name

You will be able to make the project name dynamic using the smart fields in your account. This means that the document name will adapt according to the fields you enter.

To add a smart field, type @ and the list of your attributes will be displayed.

In the example above “Template - Counterparty” means that the contract will take the name of the template “NDA” and will adapt with the name of the counterparty.

If you insert a field different than the model name or couterparty name, this will generate a question in the generation form. The contributor will have to answer the question to complete the document name.

Change project name after generation

In the generation form, the project name is grayed out and automatically generated.

You can still modify it afterwards, simply click on the name at the top left of your project.

Delete dynamic name

If you don't want a dynamic name and prefer to enter the project name manually, simply leave the "Project name" section empty in the template.

Careful, this will allow users to choose the name of the document, and could affect the uniformity of the nomenclature in your repository.
